Assam Rifles conducted it’s inaugural #HalfMarathon at Laitkor , Shillong.
CYRUNS is proud to associate with Assam Rifles by providing technical support & successful Marathon Management. Coach Rahul Sharma – Race Director for the event shared that a total of 97 participants took part in the 21 kms Half Marathon, 245 in the 10 kms run and 332 in the 2.5 km #RunforFun event. The event was a huge success with a large number of runners volunteering to participate in the inaugural event.
Lt Gen PC Nair, AVSM, YSM, DG Assam Rifles participated in the 21 Km route of Assam Rifles Half Marathon and won the joint third prize with Commander Venkatesh (retd) in his age category. Gp Capt Saikat stood first while Col EJ Simeon stood second in the same age category. The other winners of the 21 Kms category as per age group included Rfn Bharat Bhushan, Rfn Devender and Sub Bishan Singh winning the first, second and third prizes in the 41 to 50 age category. Rfn SU Visle, Rfn Kosting Dhar and Rfn Francis Zimik won the first , second and third prize in the 31 to 40 age group. Rfn Marvin, Rfn Rajesh Singh and Rfn Anil Gurung stood first, second and third in the 18 to 30 age group category of 21 Kms.
Children also participated in the run for fun event with enthusiasm. Master Arihant, Ivan and Prashant won the top three prizes amongst boys while Miss Sarvana, Yashica and Asmita won the prizes in the girls category.
