We were leaving the office around same time during Nov 2017, and I said to him “khud itna dodte ho hamein thoda run kara do”
This casual statement made by me was enough to make me his first student. The magic followed!
Until I tried, I never realized that running can be so therapeutic to my mind, body and soul.
As a novice to the passion, I decided to give it a try; motivated by his committment to daily running and countless marathons .
I’ll let the numbers do the talking, 102 kg from start to 86 kg now. Sure, I don’t have any half marathons in my bucket yet but many 10s and a few 15s.
Being aware about my shortcomings, I need a right mentor to push me to the brink of achievements. I must admit, the fine line between compulsion and motivation was someting Rahul was so well aware of! Sure this journey had its speedbumps, but he made sure that it stays perpetual.
With a physical snag to overcome from an old operated ankle fracture, getting trained under the right advice was must for me. How to deal with pains, when to stop, when to push, when to endure, was very well accomplished by him.
Getting trained as an amatuer is a blessing in disguise, because you know you’re doing it right under the guidance of an expert from the get-go who you can trust will help you avoid the same pitfalls they encountered during their training.
Because the numbers are still talking, mokery has ended when the generation hears I am getting trained for running.
Another advantage of joining a training batch with CYRUNS was to run with runners! Their steel stamina and strong wills never failed to inspire me.
Never had thought joining the training batch will be so profitable. Beautiful mornings with beautiful people is the byproduct.
Thank you would be a gross understatment to what I couldn’t express above.
